HAITIAN police killed a 15-year-old girl while firing warning shots over looters in the quake-destroyed Haitian capital Port-au-Prince on Tuesday, family members told AFP.

Fabienne Cherisma was standing in ruins on Marthely Seiee street at around 4pm when police intervened to disperse looters pillaging properties destroyed in last week's massive and deadly earthquake, witnesses said.

An AFP photographer, who arrived at the scene after the shooting, confirmed that the girl was dead from an apparent bullet wound to the head.

Some witnesses in the angry crowd, including the girl's father 52-year-old jobseeker Osam Cherisma, said the policeman had aimed deliberately at the girl, while others spoke of a warning shot that went tragically astray.

BlackRat Projects

Black Rat Projects has a number of exciting projects planned for 2010 including solo shows with Swoon, Nunca and Brian Adam Douglas (Elbow-toe) as well as a number of new print releases.

Our first exhibition of the year will take place in March and is a group exhibition featuring works by some of the most exciting artists who have worked in the streets in the last 4 decades. We have received a number of new things into the gallery this month including an extremely small edition of painstakingly hand coloured Elbow-toe prints (these are more like paintings with a printed background than hand coloured prints) and a selection of small, affordable and beautiful hand worked original works by Swoon.

A scendere in campo è il nuovissimo Boscolo Hotel Exedra Milano, inaugurato da pochi mesi per mano del grande architetto Italo Rota (lo stesso che firmerà il Museo del Novecento).

E nei coloratissimi ambienti di Corso Matteotti troverà per un mese una sede ideale la mostra "La Street art nell'urban hotel", con molti dei nomi più noti della street art, da FlyCat ad Airone, KayOne, Mambo, Sea Creative, El Gato Chimney, Ericsone, Tak, Mr. Wany, Raptuz.
